Convenience store robbed; police still looking for suspect

Police continue the lookout for the person who robbed an area convenience store at gunpoint. According to Cedartown Police, the Conoco Convenience Store located at 993 West Girard Avenue was robbed Tuesday night sometime around 6 p.m. A canine search unit searched the area for the suspect but found nothing. An employee at the store described the assailant as possibly white or Hispanic and was wearing a long sleeve black T-shirt and blue jeans and was wearing a mask. The employee also told police that the suspect headed east on Girard toward Main Street. The man’s mask was found about a half mile up the road at Lynton Drive. No other details are available at this time and police are still trying to locate the suspect.
