Wreck at dangerous intersection sends one person to the hospital

A wreck in Cedartown Tuesday has sent one person to the hospital. According to Cedartown Police officials, the collision occurred at approximately 10:45 Tuesday morning at the intersection of North Cave Spring Street and West Guard Avenue. Reports state that a white Chevy Venture minivan collided with a green Pontiac GTP on the left side. The driver of the Pontiac sustained visible head injuries, but was responsive. This particular intersection has been targeted by police and local residents as one of the most dangerous in the city. Commissioners will be holding a public hearing this month as they decide whether or not to make that intersection a 4-way stop. Currently, a 2-way stop and a flashing caution light control the traffic at that intersection.
