Suspects in Pledger murder case waive arraignment

Three men, one from Cedartown and two others from Rome, have waived arraignment for the charges against them in the May killing of a Cedartown teen. 28 year old Chiresco Montgomery of Cedartown, 39 year old Bryan E. Williams and 37 year old Eric B. Hightower, both of Rome, are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and theft by receiving stolen property in connection with the shotgun slaying of 19-year-old Jeffrey Pledger Jr., of Cedartown, on May 6. Police speculate that Pledger was lured to Rome for a drug deal and was shot on East 19th Street. 18 year old Trenton T. Williamson of Rome is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, but does not face the murder charge.
