Several hundred still without power, crew working to restore service

ATLANTA – With severe thunderstorms and heavy rain across Georgia Thursday and Friday, Georgia Power has crews in the field working to repair storm damage as quickly as possible and has restored power to thousands of customers overnight and this morning. The company provides the latest information on outages across the state via the online Outage Map.

The company encourages customers to be storm ready throughout the holiday with free tools and resources, including Georgia Power Outage Alerts which provide personalized notifications and updates via text message, phone call, and email whenever power is interrupted at their home or business.
