Polk Commission to hold public hearing today

A public hearing will be held today on a proposed antique shop at the former Old Mill Restaurant near Cedartown.

The special land use permit request, submitted by Jimmy and Ann Madden, reads that they intend to operate an antique shop on the lower level of their residence at 12 Old Mill Road.

According to the request, the business would operate on Fridays and Saturdays only from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Polk County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the request when they met last week.

County Manager Matt Denton is also expected to discuss an airport consultant agreement, along with designated smoking area at county facilities.

The County Commission meets at 5:15 pm today at the commission meeting room at the Polk County Police Department on Cline Ingram Jackson Road.

Commissioners will meet in their regular meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 pm

The work session is open to the public.
