One fatality reported in Piedmont wreck

An early morning crash in Piedmont, Alabama on Wednesday claimed the life of a man from Phil Campbell, Alabama. According to Alabama State Trooper reports, the accident occurred at 7:35am, approximately five miles south of Piedmont. The initial investigation indicated that 63 year old Robert Junior Adams was traveling south on Alabama Highway 9 in a 2000 Dodge van, when he collided with the rear end of a trailer being pulled by a 1986 Freightliner dump-truck. The dump-truck, driven by 55 year old Edward Carl Lindsey of Piedmont, was also traveling south and was making a left turn into a private drive. Robert Junior Adams was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash was investigated by Alabama State Troopers.
