Coosa High student injured in accident

A 16 year old Coosa student was critically injured Friday morning in an accident on the back lot of the High school around 11:30 this morning. The girl was sitting on the trunk of a vehicle when the driver got in and gunned it in reverse for about 120 feet before slamming on the brakes. The girl was thrown off and sustained serious head and neck injuries and was being treated at the Floyd Medical Center. The police have not released the name of either the victim or driver, but have said he driver will face charges of reckless driving.
