Another body found in Chattooga River

For the second time in less than a month, a body has been pulled from the Chattooga River. Authorities were called Friday afternoon after people canoeing on the river discovered the badly decomposed body just south of Penn Bridge Road, about five miles from where the first body was found back on March the 12th. Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett says they are awaiting positive identification from the GBI Crime Lab, but the body was that of a female. Everett says there is no relation to another body found in the river near Lyerly. The victim was identified as Patty Allen Spivey of Floyd County. Authorities are treating that case as a homicide.
