City offering warming shelter for those in need

The City of Cedartown announced today that the Goodyear Civic Center will be made available tonight as an emergency-only shelter for residents — city or county – as forecasters are calling for temperatures to drop to 10 degrees or below.

According to Cedartown City Manager Bill Fann, residents who have an emergency situation involving lack of heat and/or shelter can notify the Polk County 911 Center and arrangements will be made to accommodate them at the Goodyear Civic Center, 100 Prior Street, Cedartown.
