Officials with both the Rockmart Fire Department and the Polk County Fire Department were called to Tip-Top Poultry on the Nathan Dean Bypass in Rockmart to the call of a structure fire just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Rockmart Fire Chief Todd Queen says that no one was hurt, but the situation could very well have gotten out of hand.
According to a press release from the company, the accident only caused minor exterior damage to the facility and no Tip Top employees were involved or injured.
The facility will restart its regularly scheduled production Wednesday after completing any needed repairs.
