Rome man hits the jackpot

A Rome resident’s wish came true with the rub of Aladdin’s Lamp.  49-year old Larry Ball played the Georgia Lottery instant game and won $40,000. The Favorite Market at 2500 Shorter Avenue sold the top prize ticket. Ball was in the store with his wife, Jackie, when he scratched his lucky ticket. Ball, who works in the retail industry, has five grown children and two grandchildren. He says he plans on buying a new pair of glasses and paying a bill or two. He also hopes to use some of his winnings for travel.
