Redmond EMS is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at station number 1 at 1700 Highway 278 in Cedartown. The EMS service is now the ambulance provider for Polk County. Redmond will be adding one additional ambulance to the current number in its fleet. The Polk County Commission in a controversial decision voted to privatize Polk County’s ambulance service in an effort to lower costs for the county and to offer better services to the citizens.
