Lifeflight called in after two weekend traffic crashes in Cedartown

Emergency officials were busy over the weekend responding to two serious traffic accidents where a number of injuries were reported.

According to Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome, emergency personnel responded to a wreck on College Drive on the “S” curve near John Hand Road on Saturday.

An airlift was called in to transport at least one child with injuries and possibly a second.

While Cedartown Police were finishing up at the scene, another wreck was called in on the Cedartown Bypass.

Reports are that at least two were transported to the hospital with what appeared to be nonlife-threatening injuries.
