Car wreck on GA Hwy. 100 sends several to the hospital

A wreck on Highway 100 Wednesday afternoon has resulted in four people being transported to an area hospital from injuries sustained in the collision. According to the Georgia State Patrol, 46 year old James Eubanks of a Cave Spring address had pulled over his Ford Mustang on the side of the road when he was hit by an older model Oldsmobile Cutlass driver by 48 year old Beth Harris of a Cedartown address. The wreck occurred around 3:00 p.m. and troopers say that the Mustang burst into flames on impact. Troopers on the scene had to shut down the highway as Polk County fire crews worked to douse the flames. However, an investigation led to an arrest of the driver of the pulled over Mustang. Troopers arrested Eubanks on a DUI charge. He was housed at the Polk County Jail on $1,570 bail. The investigation into the wreck is continuing and more charges could follow.
