The investigation is continuing after a body was found Saturday morning on the Silver Comet Trail near Fish Creek.
According to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier, 41-year-old Paul Odell McGee of a Bethlehem Road address in Rockmart was located just after 11:00 a.m. by walkers on the trail near a rest area on the trail near Bethlehem Road.
Brazier pronounced McGee dead on the scene at approximately 11:20 a.m. Saturday, and said that he could see no visible signs of trauma or injuries.
“The decedent appeared to have been there overnight,” said Brazier. “We believe he passed sometime between 10:30 and 11:30 Friday night.”
Brazier said the body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy, but no foul play is suspected at this time.
The Polk County Police Department, along with the Polk County Coroner’s Office, are continuing to investigate.
