Two vehicle wreck in Rome claims life of driver

One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident just before noon Monday at the intersection of Georgia Loop 1 and the Old Calhoun Road in Rome. State Troopers and Deputy Coroner Gene Procter identified the deceased as 54-year-old Doris Cook of Kingston. Troopers identified the driver of the Nissan Altima as Katherine Greeson and says she suffered lacerations from the seatbelt and minor cuts to her knee – but is expected to be ok. Troopers says crash investigation evidence and eye-witness accounts indicate that Cook ran the red light at the intersection which led to Greeson t-boning Cook’s car. No charges will be filed as Cook was at fault.
