Two South Rome house fires possibly linked

Rome Fire Department officials are investigating two fires this week in South Rome, examining the possibility that they could be linked. Officials are looking into the circumstances surrounding a Saturday fire at 334 South McLin St. that heavily damaged a vacant home. A fire early Monday morning at 27 South Blanche Ave. also damaged an unoccupied house, and officials are seeing if the two blazes are related. Fire investigators have spoken to the owners of the South Blanche house who say they were having some renovations done to the home.
