Three area men are under arrest charged with arson related to a structure fire on Hightower Rd. According to Polk County Police, 25 year old Robert Allen Brooks of 470 Cason Rd. in Cedartown, 32 year old David Slade of a North Broad St. address in Rome, and James Slade age and address unknown were all arrested for involvement in what investigators are calling arson. All three men are facing charges of arson in the first degree and burglary charges. David Slade and Brooks remain in the Polk County Jail this morning while James Slade is being held at the Haralson County Jail on other charges. Jail dockets indicate that Brooks and James Slade were arrested the day of the fire on January 4. David Slade was arrested last Wednesday. According to reports, the three are accused of burglarizing the home, taking various household items and lawn equipment, then setting fire to the residence.
