Reports Friday indicate a new Steak ‘N Shake restaurant will be open July 1 at the site that had most recently been Johnny Carino’s off Turner McCall Blvd. Tentative plans had been discussed for an opening in the area during the past few years. Demolition of the old building will begin toward the beginning of April and construction of the new restaurant will begin as soon as the demo is complete. The new restaurant will reportedly bring 60 jobs to Rome.
