Piedmont, AL police department gets new equipment for cruisers

The Piedmont police department has received about $50,000 worth of new equipment thanks to several grants from the Alabama department of economic and community affairs. The most significant additions are mobile data units and printers that have been installed in the cities police cruisers. Sergeant Don Glover says this new equipment will increase efficiency in the department. The new equipment will enable officers to run license checks and checks for warrants on individuals without going thru the dispatcher.
