Escaped inmate in Bartown Co. turns himself in to authorities

Bartow County Sheriff’s officials say that the Taylorsville man who failed to return from his work detail has turned himself in. According to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap, the escapee simply walked back into the jail as he had walked away from his work detail Friday. According to previous reports, 46 year old Michael Tildon House was reported to have left the jail for his work detail assignment at 7:25 a.m. Friday, and was supposed to return at 5:30 p.m. Reports stated that by 8 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies reported that he’d failed to return to the jail, and police began searching for him. House had been previously sentenced in Superior Court to 12 months under the work release program for charges from 2008 including aggravated assault on a police officer, fleeing and attempting to elude and covering the identification on a vehicle. House could now face an additional five years for his escape charges.
