CHS to recieve GACHE grants

Cedartown High School is among several local high schools that were given notice that they will get grants from the Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education at North Georgia College and State University. The grants will provide resources for them to increase their graduation and college-going rate. The high schools were: Cedartown, Sonoraville, Ridgeland, LaFayette, Gordon Lee, Dalton and Whitfield Career Academy. The mission of the Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education is to encourage and assist at-risk high school students to continue their education in postsecondary schools. GACHE serves as a community resource center, providing information to improve higher education opportunities. Think of GACHE as a hub for information about higher education. Targeted counties for the group includes: Bank, Chattooga, Dade, Elbert, Fannin, Franklin, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison, Murray, Polk, Union and Walker.
