An elderly man who was attacked and robbed by three men at his home has decided not to press charges. According to Polk County Magistrate Court officials, the victim, 73 year old John Brown of a West Pine Street address told the court he didn’t want the men prosecuted. No further action will be taken against the three identified as 24 year old Travis Dewayne Proctor of a Hutto Road address in Cedartown, 43 year old Ricky Lee Messick and 24 year old Dustin McClain Ward both of Aragon. Brown had initially told police Messick came to him for money April 4. When he said no, Messick allegedly came back to Brown’s house with two other men, identified by police as Ward and Proctor. Brown said in his original police statement Messick waited at a car while the other two men beat and stabbed him.
