Shorter University President to retire

Shorter University President Harold Newman announced his plans to retire on Monday. Newman said that his contract, which ends June 2012, would be the last of his tenure at the University. A Presidential Search Committee will be appointed by Trustee Chairman Dr. Nelson Price to find the new president. Newman will retire when the choice is made. No timeline is set for a new president, however, Price said that it will be at least several months before the search begins.
