Rome Plow closes its doors

Rumors have been flying around town of a long-time industry closing its doors in Cedartown, and apparently that speculation seems to be accurate. Public records show that the Rome Plow Company was foreclosed upon in July. An attempt to contact company officials was unsuccessful. WGAA News visited the location in the Cedartown Industrial Park off of Sixth Street and discovered the property to be vacant. Rome Plow, LLC has been part of the local economy since 1934 when it moved from Rome to Cedartown. The company operated at its location on Adamson Road or the old Piedmont Highway before they opened a new facility on Sixth Street in 1999. No official announcement has been made from the company, but it appears that Rome Plow has shut down. It is not certain how many jobs are in question.
