Man robbed while walking home from grocery store

An unknown man struck a Cedartown man in the head while trying to rob him. According to reports, the victim told authorities that he was walking home from Grand’s Food Store in Cedartown when four black males approached him. One of them displayed some sort of gun and hit the victim on the head and stole the man’s wallet. Cedartown Fire Department and Redmond EMS officials were the first to respond to the scene. EMT’s transported the victim to Polk Medical Center where he was treated, but later sent to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for additional treatment. The suspects are described as wearing dark clothing. However, no one matching that description was found following the incident.
