GDOL to recruit for Halex in Rome next week

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Halex Corporation recruit a number of workers for its plant in Calhoun Tuesday, Aug. 18. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Rome Career Center located at 462 Riverside Parkway.

The company is recruiting industrial electrical mechanics and tapeline operators. Applicants for the mechanic positions must have at least two years of experience working with mechanical and electrical machinery, have their own hand tools and a valid driver’s license. Those who apply for the tapeline operator jobs must be able to read, write and speak English and have basic mathematics skills. Since the company will train the tapeline operators, no previous work experience is required.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, all applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must also have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED).
The company will conduct E-verify and background checks, as well as drug screening tests on selected applicants.
