The Aragon City Council met recently and adopted a proposed net property tax increase of 0.54. The 2009 proposed rate is 22 mills with a rollback of 10 for total of 12 mills. The total net tax levied for 2009 will generate $211,294. Council members also voted to approve a request from the Aragon Fire Department for the purchase of 6 radios not to exceed $900. In other business, a temporary waiver was granted to Todd Edwards. He is involved in a reconstruction project at a house on Hixville Road.
