Memorial Day Service at Veterans Memorial Park - Lieutenant Colonel John Frasier will be the featured speaker for the Memorial Day service to be held Monday May 27th at 11:00am at the Cedartown Veterans Memorial Park on East Avenue at Greenwood Drive. Memorial Pavers can be purchased and engraved with the name, rank and date of service of any military veteran and installed in the park at $150.00 each. - Memorial Day Service at Center Baptist Church- on Monday May 27th starting at 12:00pm. The Church is located on Felton- Rockmart Road in Felton Ga. Service to be held at graveside in honor of Medal of Honor Winner Sergent Ray McKibben. Refreshments will be served by the family and friends of the Felton Community. The Cedartown Exchange Club will be meeting on Thursday May 16th at Meadow Lakes at 7:00 PM. We will be giving our Student of the year Awards to a student from Cedartown and Rockmart High Schools. We will also have awards for the Star Teacher from Cedartown and Rockmart. We will have a special guest Speaker, Dr. William Hunter, Polk County School Superintendent, We invite all Exchange Club members to be present for this very important and informative meeting. The Student of the Month, Student of Year is part of our charter to develop child safety and development for youth in our community.
- Polk County Kids Fishing Rodeo - May 18 from 8am-2pm at Kenview Farms
( off Hwy. 113 between Rockmart and Taylorsville) This event is for Kids ages 15 and younger. Please Note – One rod per child, No minnows, 8 fish limit per child. Hourly Drawings, free refreshments, T- Shirts for the first 500 kids. - 1st Annual Cedar- Valley Shrine Demolition Derby - Saturday May 18th 7-11pm. Sunday May 19th 2-6pm at the Cedar Valley Shrine Arena inside Polk County Fair Grounds. Entry Fee is $50.00. Last day to sign up is May 15th. Tickets Adults $20.00. Children 12 and under $10.00. - Cedar Valley Nursing & Rehab – Located on 225 S. Philpot Street will be having a community wide blood drive with Blood Assurance on Tuesday May 21st 2013. The time 12:00 noon until 5:00pm. Everyone is invited to support this cause.

- Cedartown Library - Storytime takes place every Thursday morning at 11:00am at the Cedartown Library. We gather next to the castle in the Children’s Department to read stories, sing songs, and make crafts. Storytime is for children ages 0-8
