A hard to imagine calamity occurred on Lake Allatoona in Bartow County following Saturday nights fireworks show, that left five injured including a four month old child.
The Atlanta Yacht Club had just completed its fireworks show when, A ski boat slammed into the rear of a boat with five occupants.
The ski boat travelled up and over the vessel.
Investigators say the five were taken to the hospital with what were decribed as non-life threatening injuries.
But the boat they were in, was heavily damaged.
The ski boat operator was arrested and charged with boating under the influence.
All five victims were treated and released in area hospitals.
Joseph S. Tofil of Canton was arrested and charged with BUI in the wreck, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Thousands of boaters were on the water Saturday for the fireworks display.
There were no drownings reported on Lake Allatoona, or on Lake Weiss in Alabama over the holiday weekend.
