Schabort wins the 2014 Peachtree Road Race

Cedartown’s Krige Schabort has won the men’s division of the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, this is the 18th time that Schabort has participated in the coveted race.

Schabort came in third place at the Cedartown 5K Road Race earlier this week.

In the women’s division, Clarksville, Maryland resident Tatyana McFadden won the Peachtree, claiming her second win at the race.

McFadden also won the Cedartown 5k Road Race on Tuesday, shattering a world record, finishing at 11:14.26.

The paper said that 55 men and women from the U.S., Costa Rice, Columbia, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Spain, South Korea and Switzerland participated in the 6.2 mile race.
