Cedartown Gets 4 Inches of Rain
According to the National Weather Service, Cedartown and much of the Northwest Georgia area received nearly 4 inches of rain between Sunday night and Monday night. Many of the common flooding areas in Cedartown were once again flooded with water from sources such as the Big Springs and Big Cedar Creek. Rain showers pushed the waters of the Big Spring beyond its banks and flooded back yards along Biggers Drive from Furnace Street back to the girls Softball field behind the old Purks Middle School. Rockmart also had flooding in their park in downtown. Tuesday’s forecast has no indication of any showers, however some clouds may stick around throughout part of the day.
