Tree Commission to celebrate Arbor Day
The Cedartown Tree Commission along with the Georgia Forestry Commission’s Smokey the Bear will celebrate Arbor Day at Peek’s Park on February 21st. Smokey the Bear will be in park to greet residents and take pictures with kids from 3:00pm until 5:00pm weather permitting. The Tree Commission will be handing out flyers with information on local trees to anyone interested. Arbor Day was started in Nebraska in 1872 with the purpose of planting, protecting and preserving our trees.
