Cedartown hears proposal for new solar panels
The Cedartown City Commission recently heard a proposal from Inman Solar to build 5 acres worth of solar panels on a piece of property located on 6th street. If the proposal is approved by the city commission it would bring in $15,000 a year for 20 years which would equal out to $300,000. The money would be used for the Cedartown Development Authority if the proposal moves forward. Inman Solar constructs and operates solar sites around the state and currently operates solar sights in Cedartown’s North Business Park, as well as locations in Rockmart and Aragon. City Commissioners heard the proposal at their February work session meeting and decided to move forward with the letter of intent. No other action has been taken by the City Commission at this time.
