STUDENTS RECEIVE STATE AWARDS
(chapter name)DECA members recently won the right to compete at the international level in the organization’s competitive events program. DECA’s industry validated competitive events are aligned with National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. Competition begins at the local level and advances to regional, state, and international level events. Students have the opportunity to compete in several types of competitions including written events, interviews, role-plays, case studies, as well as individual and team presentations.
State Competition was held this year in conjunction with the DECA State Career Development Conference on February 28-March 2 at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlanta. Events were held over a two day period. A Recognition Session for the awarding of medals was held on Saturday, March 2nd. Top scoring participants will represent the state association in the international competition to be held as a part of the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA on April 24-27, 2013.

All winners qualify for the national competition in Anaheim, California in April
