The Cedartown City Commission met in its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday at City Hall. The board made several decisions in the meeting. Among them were several important items:
- Recognition of Jimmy Holland’s service to the City of Cedartown (a plaque will be placed at the Cedartown Recreational Facilities).
- Bill Lundy spoke on the need for the Grace Street sidewalks to be repaired during the Cedartown “Streetscape” project.
- Billy Croker presented the city with a $500,000 check for community development. Croker is largely responsible for the city receiving this large grant.
- The board decided to hire a Marketing Director for the City Auditorium. A number of events have been planned for the community to enjoy at the auditorium.
The Board of Commissioners will meet again on November 14 at 6 pm in the Commission Room located at City Hall on 201 East Avenue.
