Dawgs Take Down the Dragons in Jasper
The Cedartown Bulldogs made light, easy work of the Pickens County Dragons on Friday Night, winning by a final of 48-27. The Dawgs dominated from start to finish so much so that the Junior Varsity and freshman players got the entire second half to themselves.
By halftime, the Dawgs led 40-7 and the mercy was put into effect. This rule allows for the clock to continually run, regardless of what happens on each play.
The Dawgs amassed a total of 486 yards, 415 of that coming on the ground. They had 20 first downs compared to 13 for the Dragons.
The team had some unusually sloppy moments, with 3 fumbles and 11 penalties. However, even that could not help Pickens County overcome the deficit.
Cedartown will travel to Allatoona this Friday to play what is set up to be the biggest game of the young season.
