Crews from 5 Polk County Fire Stations responded to an early morning apartment fire on Friday morning. Firefighters from Young’s Station, Blooming Grove, Antioch, Prior Station, and Lake Creek fire departments responded to the fire on Antioch Road between Tate Road and Huntington Road around 4:15 a.m. The fire affected 2 apartments located within the same building. Upon arrival of Polk County Police Officers flames could be seen leaping from the building and the structure was fully involved. All residents escaped from the apartments unharmed thanks to a neighbor. Crews are currently on scene and Antioch Road between Tate Road and Huntington Road is currently shut down.
