GDOL to help Mohawk Industries recruit workers in Calhoun

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Mohawk Industries recruit more than 40 manufacturing employees to work at several Calhoun locations.

The recruitment will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gordon County Agricultural Center located at 1282 Highway 53 Spur SW. GDOL staff will be on site to help screen applicants.

The company is recruiting sewing and tufting machine operators, along with press and press image transfer operators.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old.

For the tufting machine operators, a high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma (GED), and six months of related experience is required.

The employer will provide training for the other positions.

Salaries range from $10.92 to $12.75 an hour.
