A Taylorsville woman has died and a man is still recovering from serious injuries after their motorcycle struck a deer on Saturday afternoon on Cartersville Highway near Rockmart High School.
Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier confirmed over the weekend that the passenger, Jacqulin Diane Willis, 27 died of massive blunt force trauma after she was thrown from the bike.
She was pronounced dead just after 2:20 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The motorcycle operator, Jacon MaGiness, also of Taylorsville, was also thrown from the bike.
He was transported by air to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.
