No major winter weather impacts expected for Polk

A shift in the forecast on Sunday pushed the bulk of the threat of freezing rain farther north and east, leaving Polk County and surrounding areas with just a chance of cold rain for Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the area will see a 90% chance of up to a quarter inch of rain today with temperatures reaching the upper 40’s to near 50.  Tuesday, more Spring like temperatures return with mid to upper 60’s due in by the end of the week.

Meteorologist John Weatherby will be updating the forecast twice an hour throughout the day on WGAA Radio.
