Police arrest two people after short vehicle pursuit

A tense situation on Main Street on Thursday morning, as Cedartown Police and Polk County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a late model Honda Accord.

Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome says Sgt. Jon Zuker received a call about a reckless driver.

The driver refused several requests to stop the vehicle and a short low speed pursuit ensued that promptly ended on Main Street in downtown Cedartown.

Police arrested the driver and passenger of the vehicle.

Their identities are not known at this time due to the fact that they gave false names, Newsome said.
