Gas prices continue to fall as summer draws to a close

Triple A South reports that gas prices are continuing a downward trend as the summer months draw to a close.

According to GasBuddy.com, Cedartown residents can find gas for as little as $2.40 at the Walmart and Kroger gas stations.

Other locations in Cedartown are selling a gallon of regular unleaded anywhere from $2.42 to $2.50.

Gas prices in the southeastern U.S. have fallen 5-6 cents in the past week, and more than 20 cents in the past month.

The average price of gasoline has declined 21 cents during a period of 32 consecutive days in both Georgia and Tennessee.
