Authorities searching for Cobb Co. murder suspect in Cedartown

Update:

Polk County Sheriff Johnny Moats says that the search continues for 29-year-old Juan Dominguez, the murder suspect wanted on warrants from the Sandy Springs Police Department.

Moats said that the trail has gone cold after they believed to have the suspect cornered near Judkin Mill Road earlier this afternoon.

Sheriff Moats said it is possible Dominguez left the area, but residents are urged to be extra vigilant.

He suggested that residents in the area lock their doors and cars.  If anyone sees a person matching the fugitive’s description, call Polk 911 immediately.

Authorities are searching along Judkin Mill Road and have a perimeter set up. We hope to learn more information later this afternoon.

Numerous law enforcement agencies are searching an area in the southern sections of Cedartown for a suspect believed to be wanted for murder and kidnapping.

According to Chief Deputy Jonathan Blackmon, Cedartown Police attempted to question a subject who matched a description of an individual believed to be connected to a homicide and kidnapping in Cobb County.  The man then fled from police on foot and a man hunt then ensued.

A Georgia State Patrol helicopter was called in to assist in the search of the fugitive who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Polk County Sheriff Johnny Moats says that they believe the fugitive is 29-year-old Juan Dominguez, who allegedly shot his roommate in Sandy Springs and then fled the scene, according to Atlanta media.

Dominguez is 5’5″ and weighs between 130 and 150 pounds. He allegedly told his sister and parents that he killed the victim, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The Rome Police Department K-9 unit, U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Cedartown Police Department, and Polk County Police Department are all participating in the search for the fugitive.

Anyone who see’s the fugitive is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
