CHS DECA Competition Results

The Cedartown High School DECA Chapter recently competed in several different events/competitions at the State Career Development Conference last weekend. The winners are as follows:

Ree Palmer: 1st, Retail Merchandising

Mary Paige Gray & Valerie DeWandel: 1st, Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making

Jordan McLendon: 2nd, Business Services

Meredith Pyle: 2nd, Accounting Services

Alexis Robinson: 2nd, Apparel and Accessories Marketing

Christopher Wisener: 3rd, Food Marketing

Madison Hamrick & Savannah Moats: 4th, Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making

Erin Jimenez & Jerod Evans: 5th, Marketing Communications Team Decision Making

Jimmy Hand, Zach Parish, & Taylor Novinger: 5th Entrepreneurship Promotion

Caleb Howard: 5th, Marketing Management

Maribel Nunez: 7th, Hotel and Lodging Marketing

All winners have qualified and will be advancing to the International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City April 28th-May 2nd.

PSD Filling District 6 Vacancy

The Polk County Board of Education will be accepting letters of interest or resumes for the purpose of selecting a qualified individual to fill the unexpired term of Crystal Sproull, District 6, until a successor is elected during the November general election.The person elected to fill the vacancy in November will take office immediately after the election and serve through December 31st, 2014.

Interested parties must be a current resident and registered voter in District 6. They must also meet all other qualifications set forth by law to serve on the Board of Education. For more information about the qualification, contact the school district office.
